BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA TUZLA BEHRAM BEY MOSQUE REOPENED FOR WORSHIP AFTER RESTORATION
Originally built in the early 17th century, Tuzla Behram Bey Mosque suffered damage over the years, including from various fires and acts of destruction, particularly the fire in 1871. After that, it was rebuilt with the support of the local community and the state. Following the restoration works that began in 2018, the mosque was reopened for worship with a ceremony held on May 5, 2025, as part of Bosnia Foundations Days.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Director General Erkan Ömeroğlu on behalf of the Directorate General of Foundations, along with:
Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein Efendi Kavazović, Tuzla Mufti Dr. Vahid Efendi Fazlović, Director of the Tuzla Canton Islamic Community, Midhat Efendi Pašić Zajimović, Head of the Tuzla Assembly, Prof. Dr. Amir Karić, and approximately two thousand people who came from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
