OUR WAQF TRADITION TOUCHED LIVES ONCE AGAIN IN 2025

In 2025, our Directorate General reached wide segments of society both in Türkiye and abroad through its services centered on social solidarity. Within the scope of our regular social assistance programs, 6,858 individuals—including children who have lost one or both parents and persons with disabilities—received monthly financial support. Through our educational support programs, assistance was provided to 50,000 students, spanning the educational journey from primary school to university.

Food assistance constituted one of the most extensive areas of waqf services in 2025. Within Türkiye, 75,870 families received regular dry food aid, while during the month of Ramadan, a total of 95,000 food parcels were delivered abroad to those in need living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and northern Syria. Additionally, preserved meat prepared within the scope of sacrificial donations reached 41,678 families.

Within the framework of our imaret services, 8,500 people were provided with hot meals daily in Istanbul, Ankara, Tokat, and Gaziantep, while 3,000 students in Erzincan received daily hot meal support. Over the course of the year, our Mobile Soup Kitchen services benefited 1,049,500 people.

SOCIAL SUPPORT EXTENDING FROM CHILDREN TO FAMILIES

During religious holidays, 44,155 orphaned and vulnerable children were provided with festive clothing, while on blessed days and nights, hot refreshments were offered at numerous locations, particularly at waqf mosques. As part of our social support activities, 106 young women received dowry assistance during their marriage process, and 2,351 children benefited from our circumcision support program.

Through organized social activities, 2,500 secondary school students were brought together in picnic programs, while sweet treats distributed in correctional facilities ensured continued social engagement with various segments of society throughout the year. In addition, animal shelters were supported with food supplies, ensuring that assistance activities were carried out in a multifaceted manner.

OUR RAMADAN SOLIDARITY EXTENDED BEYOND BORDERS

The Waqf Iftar Gatherings organized during Ramadan in 2025 were held with broad participation. Across 81 provinces at 151 locations throughout Türkiye, approximately 100,000 people were served iftar meals daily, reaching a total of nearly 3 million meals nationwide.

For the first time, iftar programs were also organized abroad. In eight different locations, primarily in Nicosia, Sarajevo, and Prizren, 500 people per day gathered around the same table, extending the spirit of solidarity beyond national borders.
